Yes, all the Hawaiian themed photos on my blog probably are a bit much, but why not?
The last eight months have been a bad jumble of to do lists and car pool. I have never felt so busy in my life. Every once in a while I would stop to breath (or cry) and try to figure out why this is. Life wasn't this demanding in Texas. What happened? The answer is easy and in two parts.
My kids are getting older
The busy of life changed once my children all transition from being toddlers to being kids. The toddler stage required me to be at home and always working to make their lives happy. Kids require me to leave my house at multiple and various times of the day in order to make their lives happy. McKenna and Evan are both attending an elementary school (that I drive them to) from 7:45 am to 2:00 pm (except on Wednesdays when they are out at 1:10 pm). Alana goes to preschool on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 am to 11:30 am. On Monday Evan and Alana have gymnastics. On Tuesday and Thursday McKenna has hula while Evan and Alana have swim lessons (all at different times). You get the point. I live in my car.
This is nothing new to moms everywhere. It is new for me.
My House is WAY to big
I know, I know, boohoo for me, right? But, I'v gotta tell ya, it makes a HUGE difference. We moved from a cozy four bed, two bath, one living room, 1200 sq foot apartment to a four bed, three bath, two living room, dining room, back yard, garage, 2000 sq foot house. It was a dream come true....until I had to keep it clean. Cleaning this house is a major time suck. I have never had tile floors until now and if I have my way I will never have them again. I love carpet. I don't care if it holds dust. I know it wont be sticky on a humid day or turn my feet black if I walk bare foot all day. Tile floors are NEVER clean. Not even after you just cleaned them. Plus more rooms just means more places for the kids to spread out their toys. They some how manage to do this daily.
However crazy they sometimes make me, I recognize that I am very blessed to have these stresses. I am so glad that I can give my kids the opportunity to learn new things and to explore their interests. I am also happy that my husband and I are finally in a place in our life where this is the kind of house we get to live in.
So, life is good and I am very happy.
P.S. If you are reading this before my husband has had the chance to proof read it, sorry! :)
